Thornton Beach House and Bungalows are nestled between the Great Barrier Reef and the World Heritage Listed Daintree Nation Park, only metres from stunning and often isolated Thornton Beach.
The spacious, open plan beach house has primarily glass louvres to make the most of the sea breeze and views of the Coral Sea and surrounding rainforest.
Thornton Beach House is fully self sufficient, with solar power, and well-water, and can sleep up to 8 people, with 2 bedrooms in the house, and 2 detached bedrooms approx 10 metres from the main house.
We also rent out the ensuite bungalows separately for a romantic holiday for 2 at a cost of $85.00 per bungalow per night. They contain a queen bed, ensuite bathroom, tea & coffee facilities, and a private verandah with views of the coral sea.

Thornton Beach House is located a scenic 2.5 hour drive north of Cairns and 1 hour from Port Douglas.
Once you have crossed the Daintree River on the Daintree cable ferry - which runs from 6am to midnight, 7 days a week - it’s only another 20 minutes drive and you’re here.

Our accommodation is very well situated, being centrally located to both Cape Tribulation and Cow Bay, with their tours, restaurants, bars, boardwalks and fresh water creeks for swimming.
