This beautiful yurt site lies in secluded meadows at the foot of the Berwyn Hills in the Tanat Valley in Wales. The location, coupled with the fact there are only two yurts onsite, makes this a pretty tranquil place to stay.
What’s more, because this is a small family business, it’s got a really personal, friendly feel, and the yurts themselves are exceptionally homely.
If you’re after something a little extra, the team here can provide Reiki, massage treatments, reflexology and acupuncture. And if you’re holidaying with kids, there are art and craft sessions with CRB-checked workshop leaders.
What better way to spend your holiday than in a yurt in Wales? The real point about this place is its away-from-it-all setting that still manages to be within easy reach of plenty of things to see and do.
If you don’t want to waste time in the car, then a day’s rambling through woodland, meadows and up to the Berwyn Hills is probably your best bet. If you’d rather take things up a notch or two, there’s the watersports at nearby Lake Bala. And, an hour’s drive away, you’ve got the Centre for Alternative Technology.
But, there’s no real reason why you should see any of it if you don’t want to. Yurts make great bases for families and friends wanting to enjoy each other’s company – stock up on supplies, fire up the onsite barbecue, and hunker down. Guitars, board games and party tricks optional.
ABOUT THE SITE:
The Yurt area is made as relaxing as possible whilst being environmentally responsive in order to minimise our impact on the local environment.
Each yurt has a BBQ area with tables and benches so you can enjoy alfresco eating. For those not so sunny days we have a fully equipped communal kitchen and dinning area with a gas cooker, sink, fridge and freezer so that food can be stored safely.
The site has a spacious communal wash house, which includes a shower, wash basin and toilet.
There is a small car park area a short walk from the meadow. We do not allow vehicles on the grassland, ensuring meadow flowers and grasses are preserved and an optimum feeling of tranquility is maintained.

We are happy to have dogs on site and dogs are always happy to be here! However, we are surrounded by farm land which is predominantly stocked with sheep. It is therefore essential that dogs are friendly and kept under control at all times.
We are a short drive from local shops, including a butchers, off-licence, bakers, vegetable shop and launderette, but depending on how plentiful the veg garden is, we hope to be able to offer you picked to order organic vegetables. On site you canalso buy fresh free range eggs and Honey from our own hives.
THE YURTS:
Each Yurt is individual and hand crafted; internally they have a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere and are warm and welcoming.
Both have similar fittings with wooden floors covered with rugs and floor cushions and are set out with a double and two single futons, all bedding is provided. This allows plenty of sitting space which is easily converted to beds. Each yurt also has a small table, shelving and storage. Gas heaters are available during the colder off season
The kitchen area offers an adequate quantity of cups, plates and cutlery with pots, pans and cooking implements. A gas oven, fridge, freezer, food storage and a dinning table complete the arrangement. The outside BBQ area offers additional space for cooking.
We can also provide a cot and highchair on request for families with babies or toddlers.
