El Nagual Private Heritage Reserve was conceived to be completely self-sufficient. The energy we use is renewable: hydraulic and solar. To grow our vegetables we employ many ecologically-sound techniques and from our produce we manufacture fine foods, such as pates, liquors, jams and jellies, pickles, medical syrups, fruit wines and vinegars.
Our Inn has 6 rooms and a total capacity of 20 beds arranged as 4 Family Maisonettes with one double and 2 single beds, and 2 Double Bedrooms. At El Nagual you enjoy big, comfortable rooms with a magnificent view. Make yourself at home!
We have extensive sporting facilities for our guests, such as a swimming pool, sports camp, and some of the best trekking and hiking on the planet! We organize trekking and climbing tours with specialized guides into the wonderful National Park Sierra dos Organs, with its virgin forest and fantastic waterfalls. International fine foods made with our own organic vegetables and other local organic products are waiting for you in the dining room. Erhard Kalloch ou Eraldo, our Chef, practices a fine, healthy, dynamic cuisine. He and his partner, Mariana, who makes our vegetarian dishes and salads, met in 1987 and have worked together since. Using their extensive European experience, they have transformed our kitchen into a culinary laboratory, mixing local and international techniques and flavors with flair and artistry. At the Bar we make frozen drinks with fresh fruits or herbs.
El Nagual Reserve is also economically self-sufficient, working with a combination of handmade crafts and ecotourism. Our specialties are candles, bamboo nature-fibre, mosaic, and papier machê. Let your creativity flow in our art studio.
We offer courses in handicrafts, and conversation studies in foreign languages such as German, Portuguese, Spanish and French. We promote Cultural Exchanges and offer consulting services in Eco-techniques.
