The 'Romany Rest' is situated on the Points East Coastal Drive between Cardigan and Georgetown in Eastern Prince Edward Island in the Canadian Maritimes, just a short drive to Montague and minutes from the Brudenell Golf Course - an ideal base for touring Prince Edward Island (PEI).
Close by are stunning beaches, maritime villages, theatre, music and dancing, museums, lighthouses and the Confederation Trail for cycling, and walks. There are a selection of restaurants, bars and cafes within five minutes drive.
Our B&B Guests can take advantage of the outdoor solar-heated swimming pool, possibly to work up an appetite for a relaxing breakfast in our farmhouse kitchen, dining room, or choose to eat by the pool. Our own hens will provide your breakfast eggs and you will be able to enjoy Prince Edward Island ingredients wherever possible, including fruit from our own gardens, island potato hash, home-cooked ham, & delicious local sausages and bacon. We grow or produce as much of our own food as possible using organic permaculture, and keep hens, ducks and sheep.
We also have a two and a half star rated cottage to let which sleeps up to 4 (+ 1 in crib). The cottage comes with its own unique extra - you have the use of our romany wagon as extra camping space!
B&B guests are welcome to use our computer with internet access, fax, copier, printer and scanner, located in the Dining Room. In the sun-lounge, there are books, DVDs and games for you to borrow and enjoy and laundry facilities, iron & ironing board are available on request.
Your hosts, Sandra and Fred, originally come from Wales in the United Kingdom, where a few Romany travelling folk still tour the country lanes in their beautiful horse-drawn wagons. At the end of a day on the road, the travellers gather wood and light a fire for supper and then it's time to relax.
