Les Liards is an ideal place to de-stress, to hike and to discover the Auvergne.
The guesthouse has been reconstructed from the ruins of the old farm. The architecture, building tradition and environment have been fully respected in the rebuilding, using traditional methods and non-polluting materials.
At Les Liards, you will feel far from the pressure of day-to-day living; the buzzards drawing circles in the air symbolise the undisturbed natural environment. Set in the Natural Regional Park of Livradois-Forez, the domain is rich and diverse in nature. Some parts are still wild, while others are agricultural or forest lands: the countryside is therefore ideal for walkers and hikers.
Auberge Les Liards has been created by Astrid Ursem and Walter Verhoeve. They will look after you with their sons Tim and Rik. As development workers, Astrid and Walter have lived in countries all over the world, before settling down at Les Liards. They took along their souvenirs from Asia and Africa, amongst which are the many objets d’art they display in and around the guesthouse. (They also brought back some very original and appetising recipes!) That's why you will find a touch of exoticism in this truly Auvergne environment.
