| We take actions to: conserve heat, install eco-friendly lighting, reduce oil/gas carbon emissions, compost waste food, recycle wherever possible, use bio degradable cleaning agents, source food locally, include green room info packs, conserve/care for wildlife in our area, We are committed to positive action in reducing our impact on the environment, using Organic produce as our standard, and are the only caterer in Northern Ireland to have signed the Soil Association’s Organic Catering Code of Practice. We have planted and nurtured our garden organically over the last thirty years on what was once an open field. It has become a tranquil retreat and home to many kinds of wildlife. We have geo thermal heating (i.e. trenches dug in the field in front of the house and heat exchanger) to supply our underfloor central heating. A 3 kw circulating pump supplies 14 kw heat. |
