Description

Haritha Farm's The Pimenta introduces the myriad delights of the traditional Kerala Kitchen. Off the beaten track, surrounded by the riches of forest gardens. A place where you can truly relax and be yourself. Visitors can experience what it’s like to be part of a typical Kerala homestead.

Clean and comfortable ensuite bungalows with private verandas are built in the traditional style and overlook the lush native forest.

We offer a variety of Eastern Kerala specialities and other Indian dishes home cooked with the flavour and aroma of our fresh farm grown spices and coconut.The food is tasty, healthy  and vegetarian.

Accommodation is great value as our prices include all meals.

We are easily accessible from Cochin Airport ,Train Stations in Kottayam, Cochin and Alwaye. Also easy access to other destinations of interest.

RATES: Double: IN RS.4800—5500; Single: IN RS.3600--4200, Extra person in Double will be charged 50 % of the double room. These prices are valid up to 31st May 2009. The Higher prices are for the months of November, December, January and February. Prices are inclusive of all meals  and bottled, filtered water.

Seven day Kerala cooking adventure starts every Sunday.

First day -Arrival - familiarise yourself with your cottage and the tropical forest garden. Enjoy a ‘tuk-tuk tour of the region.

Second day: Cooking basics and demonstrations- the regional evolution of Kerala cuisine, the spices and utensils used and convenient contemporary adaptations.


Third day: Enjoy a walk through the region, say “Hello” to the spices and plants, and visit a pineapple market. In the afternoon, there will be cooking class. Before dinner you can explore the region or walk to the river for a swim in summer (December to
May).

Fourth day: Visit an elephant training centre and hand loom cotton weaving centre;
also possible to visit temples and churches if you wish.

Fifth day: A day out to see the Keralan Hills and Tea growing area. Do tea shopping and also visit a natural dyeing and hand made paper unit.

Sixth day: Visit to local snack, chip, masala and curry powder making units. In the afternoon, there will be cooking class.

Seventh day: Question and answer session, review of progress. In the afternoon, there will be cooking class.

Eighth day: Breakfast and farewell.

Rates:
INRS.50000 z- for one person with a private room; INRS.70000/- for two, sharing a double room; INRS.97000/- for three sharing a triple room (suitable for students)

The price includes all meals, 7 nights accommodation; cookery lessons; all trips, and transportation and entry fees mentioned in the 7 day packages.
 
Filtered /bottled drinking water provided.

Pick up and drop can be arranged from Cochin airport, or nearby destinations (at extra cost).
