Secluded in the tropical rain forest bordering Corcovado National Park, Luna Lodge is a unique resort described by many as "...a piece of true paradise". Its appeal is, not only, its natural beauty and environment, where the heliconia hang three feet long, and the howler monkeys wake you in the morning, but also, its ambiance.
The owners' passion for the preservation of the forest is ever present, and the attentive courtesy, friendly staff always serve "con mucho gusto... with pleasure".
From its inception, Luna Lodge has had the environment at its core. In the beginning, guests are reminded that this is where the plants, animals and insects live. We are the visitors here. Here in the lowland tropical forest where 2.5% of all the biodiversity in the world exists.
In keeping with our mission to co-exist with other natural elements we continue our efforts toward sustainability. We operate on 100% hydro-electric energy and solar power.
As a result of this and numerous other efforts, we have been certified by the Costa Rican Sustainable Tourism Commission and have already received our third leaf.
On a broader scale, we are supporting a private non-profit association called the "White Hawk Project". Its stated purpose is to secure and protect lands so as to extend a natural corridor beyond the boundaries of Corcovado National Park.
