Kibò Farm is an independently operated organic farm which exports high-quality organic produce around the world.
Accommodation is original and rustic, with thick stone walls, traditional wooden roof beams, and hand-laid plaster. We have adapted the building to provide modern comforts and yet remain eco-friendly.
We have taken advantage of the Sicilian sunshine to produce our own electricity through the addition of solar panels to the roof. We have also added eco-friendly insulation, repainted the interior with eco-friendly paint, and updated the kitchen and bathrooms. Our goal has been to increase the comfort of our guests and to make the farmhouse a model of sustainability, without losing the historic, hand-made quality of the original building.
The Kibò farmhouse features 2 private apartments:
Apartment 1 has 3 bedrooms, a kitchen/living room, and a large bathroom (with a jacuzzi). It is great for up to 6 people.
Apartment 2 has 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a large separate living room, and a bathroom with a shower. It accommodates 4 - 6 people.
We also have a separate forno (baking kitchen), a pantry for storing and preparing produce, and several cozy hammocks for relaxing.
The Di Salvo family run all aspects of the farm from pruning trees to creating product designs We follow a green ethos in business and in life, with a firm belief that nothing should be wasted and a natural balance with the environment must be maintained. All products used are organic, local and sustainably produced.
We think you will be surprised how easy it is to cook organically, to grow your own ingredients, and to prepare delicious meals straight from your garden.
We offer organic cooking courses, organic gardening courses, textile design courses (great for those who might want to make their own clothes), and tuition in the art of watercolor painting for those who want to capture the beauty and experience of Sicily. These courses can be one day events incorporated into the hiring of a house. Or a week long package just letting us look after you.
